A not-so-new beginning
Welcome to the start, 30 years ago. We all liked building our own bikes, at least that's what I thought. From taking apart everything in the garage, to rebuilding the brakes, installing a lift kit and stereo on my Bronco at age 16, I just figured that's what all kids do. When I jumped down 10 stairs on my bicycle and destroyed the rear wheel I read about how to lace a wheel. I went to my local bike shop and bought 64 spokes and nipples and rebuilt the wheel, because that's what everyone does right?! I went from building my own bicycles to building bicycles for my friends, sweating all the details from the type of brake levers to how long each brake hose should be and which components would best compliment that rider. I built a few motorcycles for myself, not happy with how the "factory" built them. I'd strip them down, modify the suspension, weld the swing arm to improve handling, increase the power, install better brakes, lights and so-on. Fast forward to 2020 and we're building websites, eCommerce platforms and still riding bicycles. Except now, bicycles are even better. Many of my early rides ended not when I was tired, but when I broke a chain, a pedal spindle or blew apart a damping cartridge. 3 decades later with the addition of the e-bike they're more capable, more versatile, more reliable and faster than we could have ever imagined. Working directly with engineers, production managers, quality control and logistics teams we're able to put our own spin on the bicycle. We wanted to focus on 3 points: value, performance and reliability. This is how Able Bicycle Company was born. Forever on two wheels, thanks for reading.
